Throw it out THURSDAY!

and that's exactly what I'm doing!
I'm throwing out this "throw it out Thursday"!
Does that make sense?

Here's why.

We are having our cabinets painted white (gasp) ...and also some of our walls and unfinished wainscoting...so our house looks something like this right now:
(I would show you a real picture of the chaos, but I can't find the right cord to transfer pics from my camera to computer. As it is, I had to crawl through plastic caves to uncover my computer.)

Because of the toxic fumes, I was informed this morning that my 2 young children and I had to be out of the house ALL day. HOMELESS! Thank goodness for friends who let me come and hang out with them. And thanks to Jaydon and Joel for having a birthday so that we could pass time at a party! (again...no pictures)

Speaking of birthdays...this may be late, but I want to wish my twin brothers a
HAPPY 24th BIRTHDAY!

I always did want a sister
so thanks for always trying
your best to please me.

You guys are the bust...i mean BEST!

Love you Toogie and Boogie
(sorry garrett...you are only x'ed temporarily)

All in a day's work...

Phew.
I hauled a family 30 minutes through the hills, made them hike uneven paths in wedge heels and bare feet, posed them atop ant hills, and tried (oh how I tried) to get a family picture.

silly me. I didn't know what a hard task that would be with a 5, 3 and 1 year-old. Can I just say...impossible?!?!

And at the end of it all, I said goodbye. Then sat in my car, nursed my Lucy and took an automatic shot for the road.

perspective

I was just getting ready to write a post about my hard weekend with kids and no husband, when at the last minute I decided to check my Auntie Berta's blog which led me to read about this family's recent loss of their precious little girl, Lucy.

It must have been inspired. I am sobered by the story. She was almost two...beautiful and full of life and from one common accident was taken from this earth. Now with tears running down my cheeks, I can't help but feel a bit foolish for even wanting to complain.

Let's all take today to cherish our loved ones...in honor of sweet Lucy.

Throw it out THURSDAY!

Just in the nick of time!

This one was tricky because organizing during Jack's awake hours is nearly impossible, and when he was sleeping, he was occupying one of these rooms. But somehow we did it. Even if we did have to lock him away for a short amount of time. Call CPS...see if I care!

So here are the results. (Please refer to the BEFORE pictures from previous blog
entry.)

Lucy's closet

Lucy's clean room

Jack's Closet

I can check this off my list now.
I'd been meaning to put some pics up in jack's room.

The whole enchilada!
Next week's project is a two-part deal. Let's just say, when I organize I usually end up with one giant pile of all the stuff I don't know what to do with. Well, that giant pile is now occupying our upstairs loft/office/playroom.

Pictures are not available at this time.

huh?

jack doesn't have it. lucy doesn't have it.

just me. i have pink eye.

the whole wake-up-with-crusty-green-goop-in-your-eye pink eye!

What's next?
Hand, foot, mouth disease? Diaper rash? Chicken pox?

mad sewing skills...

...are not something i possess. but sometimes i pretend.

I found these cute crib bumpers from this french girl & I thought they were adorable. They look doable for the amateur seamstress. Or am i fooling myself again?
These almost make me want to have another child right away so I can decorate a nursery. Did I empahsize ALMOST?

Plus, these little guitars are rockin'. I love the whole idea!

(Stay tuned for my Throw it Out Thursday. And by "stay tuned" I mean...give me until 10pm Pacific Standard Time so that I can bust my rear to keep my word.)

random weekend snippets

Friday night we cooled off with these guys.

Saturday we did this...

...to get ready for these house guests.

He miraculously napped for 4.5 hours.

and she was an angel so we took some pictures.

I love weekends like this!

moments I never want to forget.

He can't go to bed without doing this.

friends that strip together, stick together!

Jack + Ezzy = B.F.F.

These two are the best of buddies. Many times during the day Jack calls out "ezzy, ezzy" hoping to hint to me that he wants a playdate with his amigo. Every Sunday we walk down the aisle to our seat and if Jack catches ezra out of the corner of his eye, he hollars out, "Ezzzzzzzyyyyy!" Bribing Jack with candy works, but bribing him with Ezra is even better.

I try to host playdates as often as I can because Jack gets pretty bored around here with just me. The other day we had a playdate and Ezra taught Jack some new tricks. Like how to remove his diaper. With those two bums running around, I couldn't resist the Kodak moment.

check out that ba-donka-donk!

Throw it out THURSDAY!

It's a beautiful thing. I have managed to combine two things:

blogging (which I love) + organizing (which I don't love) to form the perfect equation that = maximum productivity. Brilliant, I tell ya.

Her closet...BEFORE

Her closet...AFTER

His closet...BEFORE

His closet...AFTER

If you'll notice...one of us has WAY more clothes than the other. And there's a good possibility that SAME person occupies one dresser singlehandedly. Sheesh.

deja vu...

this...
reminded me of this:

and SHE...

reminded me of IT!

only this was FREE...

and this was not so free

but,

there is a price to pay for quality mud. Mud that exfoliates in just the right way. Mud that is free from dead-organisms. Mud that shows mother just how much she's appreciated.

thank you sweetheart for mud-tastic weekend away!

and dad...thank you for these!

(which also reminded me of the time he sent me flowers in college from my "secret admirer" and I spent the entire day wondering in anticipation who it could be. Imagine my embarrassment when I found out it was ole daddy-o! )

Mission: ORGANIZATION

if you spent a day in my head, this is what you would experience...

I think I'll clean the kitchen. oh..there's my computer. I'm just going to see if I got any comments. I got one from amy. I wonder what she's been up to. I'm going to call her. oooh. i want to check out Pioneer Woman's photoshop tutorials that amy told me about. speaking of photos, I think I will organize my old photos. chuckle, chuckle...i remember this high school football game. I wonder if I can find my journal and read my old high school entries. shoot. I forgot about the laundry in the washer from 3 days ago. i better change it. darn. it smells mildewed. I'm going to look up mildew removal on the internet. hmm. maybe I'll check my e-mail while I'm here. gee, my toenails are getting long. I better clip them. oh...the kitchen is still messy and jack is awake. where did the time go?

As you can see, I have major ADD (it runs in the family)
I need help & I'm not afraid to admit it.

SO...

I devised a plan. Mission: ORGANIZATION. Each Thursday I am going to post a BEFORE picture of one problem area in my home. The following Thursday I will post the AFTER picture. If all goes as planned, my house will be somewhat organized in a few short weeks. You will all motivate me, right?

Here is this week's project...his/her closets
BEFORE
(please don't judge)

Feel free to join this crusade.
I would love to see your messes!

i also think these cutie booties would make lucy very happy.

aren't they just scrumptious?

airshow

I wouldn't say we're plane enthusiasts. We were just looking for something to do and our friends, the Southwell's, told us about this airshow. It was actually much cooler than I thought it would be. Fun for the whole family, ya know?

These guys were skydiving in formations at extreme speeds.

Jack was trying to figure out why objects were flying through the sky. Little does he know his dad is one of the lunatics who's tried that. Listen to mommy, Jack....don't even think about it!
This guy did stunts in his plane. Again...crazy scary! Really cool, though.

( these kids were
frozen in this position the entire time!)

All the while...this girl was pulling CRAZY stunts in her pants. Hence, the no clothes, wrapped-in-a-blanket look.

And finally, this little distraction. I don't think weight watchers would approve of funnel cakes and Kielbasa sausages?!?
