beach. then and now....

This is what a day at the beach was like
3 years ago:

child sitting in the exact middle of a humongous towel
towel dusted off every 2-3 minutes so as not to have one grain of sand near child
child's hands powdered off with baby powder frequently
sun hats, rash guards, umbrellas and SPF 300 out in full force
food fed to child directly into mouth by an adult with spotlessly clean hands
an occasional walk to the water's edge in the arms of a responsible parent
back to the middle of the towel

This is what a day at the beach looks like
NOW:

need i say more?

so awesome! the days of controlled beach time are long gone...so sad.

Lucy cracks me up! What I loved the most was that she didn't even care that she face planted!

I'm de-lurking...you inspire me as a new mom! Your kids look like they have so much FUN!
(I used to work with your Dad at the Nut House and he told me about your blog!) :)

heather - yes...we had sandy bowels for 2 days solid.

Mer & Shel - she is a very tactile child. she faceplanted once on purpose. Then I cleaned her up. Then she did it again. don't ask why. your guess is as good as mine.

Tracy - so nice to cyber meet you! I had a look at your blog and it will be a keeper since I am fashionably challenged! I love it!

I'm so glad that we learn to RELAX after giving it a go with the first child. Hopefully we don't screw up our first kids too bad. . . wait it might be too late for me.

How brave of you to have your awesome camera out with all that sand and messiness. Forget the kiddos, protect the lens!

I wish I was there to enjoy all the beach fun with you!

Adds a whole me meaning to Sandman...or in this case Sandwoman. That's how I feel when I shave in the morning. Maybe this is a whole new defoliation (sp?) method. It might catch on.
