Once upon a time there was a husband and a wife.
They lived in a house with perfectly nice stained, maple cabinets, but always dreamed of having white cabinets.
One day they made a last minute decision to have their cabinets painted, even though everyone said they were CRAZY.
The painters came, the couple left the house for 3 days and when they returned in the morning they discovered their cabinets were ruined from drying outside in the misty, dewy air.
The wife wanted to cry, the husband kept his cool and the painters probably wanted to croak after all the work invested.
After a day of worry, there was a pow-wow to discuss the plan of action.
The couple is relieved to say the painter is ordering new cabinets on his dime.
All will be made well again...just not yet.

Moral(s) of the story:
Don't decide to paint your entire house 3 days before house guests arrive.
Don't dry things overnight in the elements.
Hire trustworthy people who have the integrity to make the situation right.
Don't ever try to entertain children away from home for 10 hours.

Oh wow. I'm super impressed with your painter. What a loss! Crazy story.
I'll have to come over and see them in person. I'm glad they're going to fix them for you!
What a nightmare! That is so great that they are replacing them for you! You'll have to post some pictures when they are done!
I"m so glad it's getting resolved! It was still fun to have my 2 day family addition!
Good luck with that, I am so sorry to hear that you had to deal with that! Crazy!
I guess in the long run it will work out better! I am anxious to see the results!
I think I made this sound so negative. We love them and are excited to see what they look like with unwarped doors and some hardware.
Shel - I will post results in 2,3,4 weeks???
I can't wait to see it finished. I love the white, I'm glad it will all get worked out the right way.
too bad that is awfull
what a royal pain, but SO worth it, I love it!!
This makes me want to go get a can of white paint right now and paint my cabinets myself...but then I'd probably be blogging about my own fiasco. They are so cute...or are going to be when they're perfect. Are you keeping them white?
