one step forward, ten steps back

...try 20 steps back!
I just can't seem to get on top of my game!  Anyone else ever feel this way?

I am seriously considering buying one of those posters that reads:

KEEP
CALM
&
CARRY
ON

and having it made into wallpaper to line the largest wall in my home.

In the past few days, my patience has been tested to it's limits!  On Tuesday I was pretty sure you could see the flames of rage expoloing from my nostrils and ears.  I even went into my bathroom and threw a brush (not at anyone, just to clarify).  I was THAT mad.  It's kinda laughable now.  I'm sure even I would get a chuckle out of the whole scene replayed in slow motion.  But at the time it was all I could do.  Then I burst into tears because I hate when my emotions get the best of me.

But you've all had a day like that, right?

So, needless to say, blogging has not been at the top of my priority list.

Until I can find some humorous twist in some of these 2/3 year old moments, I may have to steer clear of writing.  I would hate to be a Debbie Downer.

So, on a lighter note, here are some pictures from Jack's swimming lessons.  The pool has definitely been our "happy place" lately!

I love seeing my kids playing and having fun outside!

I'm off to power clean my house hoping to make up for a week of lost time.
Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend.

Oh Ali, I have days like that often. I DID buy a lime green of that saying for my bathroom. I am excited! Not that in a moment it may do anything.
I thought the two's were hard, and now the three's are even harder! I have to ask myself how do people do it with seven?!?!?

And at saying that I can't but help think of all the smiles they put on my face amongst the shaking nerves.

I wish we lived close, Sadie and Jack would be great friends.

shel - you can cheer up anyone's bad days! remember when we were neighbors in college and I was brokenhearted over some break-up and you brought me a nice note with an uplifting quote? remember that? well it made my day. love you!

Leanne...good to know from a "pro" with 6 kids that it's not always as seamless as it appears!

ali! yes yes yes! been there too. keep calm and carry on? i don't think a poster would do the trick.. you would of thrown the brush at the poster like it was taunting you.. you are such a good mom with fantastic kids. don't be so hard on yourself..:0)

As I always say...cheer up things could get worse....so I cheered up and sure enough things got worse. Forget the poster-go for the chocolate. DAD

Yep, I have days like that. I hear what you are saying. One time I stomped my foot so hard I bruised my heel. I felt pretty silly for that one. I think keeping our temper in check and learning patience is all part of Heavenly Father's plan in helping us to grow. Hey, without kids we would never even know these emotions. I wish I lived down the street from you and Kelly. I miss you all the time!

I don't understand. I've never had a day like that or anything to test my patience. Or a son that backs the car onto the neighbor's lawn twice. I'll call if I do. Or maybe you'll be there to witness it!

i've had my share of brush throwing days (at least it's not my kids right!?) just do what I did- I read your blog, made a whole tray of those heavenly cookie/brownies drizzled in chocolatie goodness and ate the entire pan within 2 hours (with a little sharing allowed). it really took the edge off.
