perspective

I was just getting ready to write a post about my hard weekend with kids and no husband, when at the last minute I decided to check my Auntie Berta's blog which led me to read about this family's recent loss of their precious little girl, Lucy.

It must have been inspired. I am sobered by the story. She was almost two...beautiful and full of life and from one common accident was taken from this earth. Now with tears running down my cheeks, I can't help but feel a bit foolish for even wanting to complain.

Let's all take today to cherish our loved ones...in honor of sweet Lucy.

Oh my goodness...that is just the saddest thing ever! I was just reading their blog and was overwhelmed by their strength. I will definately be giving my kids extra loves today.

I cannot even imagine going through that. It really hits close to home since Sebastian is the same age that Lucy was. I give him apples all the time! You just never know what's around the corner.

Hey Ali,

Summer told me about this incident last week, but then to actually go to their blog and read about their family, and see pics of their sweet little girl was so overwhelming.
I also read their blog with tears streaming down my face. It definitely does give you perspective, doesn't it? What a sweet family, and it looks like their little Lucy touched a lot of lives.

Thank you Ali. When my two year old is rebelling, I will remember sweet Lucy and love my little gal a little more.

That is so sad and crazy. What a strange accident.

I realized as I read that the mom is Molly Bice. She went to Rick's the same time we did. I didn't recognize her at first (she's much smaller now) but she sang and danced with the Ricks version of the young ambassadors. I think her dad was the director. Small world.

Thanks for the reminder of the delicate nature of life.

Amy Jo...such crazy connections. Lindi's husband actually worked on little lucy in the ER. He said it was a very sad experience, but the whole family touched so many lives.

Steve and I were friends with them in our singles ward. There is a fund set up if anyone would like to donate to help them out. It broke my heart when I heard.

Such strength! I admire their faith. I will try not to get so frustrated with little Ez now, and appreciate what he's doing instead.
Thanks for sharing.

Ali- Lucy was my sister-in-law's niece. I had met Lucy before and know Vic and Molly and it was so hard to hear about this. I still can't even believe it. It for sure makes you realize to cherish every moment. Thanks for posting this and I don't know how I missed it before.
