I am going to eat healthy this pregnancy....

YA RIGHT! I started off with really good intentions. Yesterday I began my day with a vigorous walk around the lake. Then came home, made myself a protein smoothie only to discover that the yogurt was rotten. So, I tried again with unexpired yogurt and again the smell of something sour. How could this be? Is my sense of smell already magnified by a thousand? Well, to heck with the smoothie. I will have some whole grain toast with peanut butter. Not bad, right? This was at 7:30 am. By 10:00 am I was FAMISHED! I perused the fridge for another "healthy choice", but to no avail. I settled for two cheese quesadillas broiled in the oven. mmmm. Then I went out to wash the car and by 12:00 I was STARVING! For a moment I thought, "Well, I should just go home and make something healthy to eat"....when what appeared before my eyes? drumroll please....WENDYS! 2 minutes later I was driving away shoving salty fries into my mouth. sigh. but it doesn't stop there. I was not giving up on this whole idea of a healthy pregnancy. For dinner I plucked some veggies out of our garden and whipped up some grilled chicken with sauteed corn, onions, and squash. Then prepared a salad with fresh garden tomatoes. I was a.) proud to be making dinner and b.) proud to be making a healthy dinner. Troy and I polished that off in no time and were feeling good about our healthy choice. Then, that yucky after dinner pregnancy taste invaded my mouth and I needed something sweet to offset it. So I nibbled on a few starbursts. Finally about 2 hours later what happened? You guessed it...I WAS STARVING AGAIN! So I topped off the night with a buttery bag of popcorn. which by the way, sounds pretty good right now at 9:00 a.m....

I'm DOOOOOMED!

I love it.. please keep these daily eating journals going. I love to know I am not the only one who doesn't eat healthy all day long, and I'm not pregnant.

You know, I have always considered popcorn a healthy snack. Don't be too hard on yourself, You did start the day with exercise.
Amanda

That was the funniest narrative I've ever heard! The funniest part was that it was so true to how I was when I was pregnant. Keep it coming!

Hilarious. I think we can all relate and are a bit jealous that we don't have an excuse to be eating all those yummy things.

First of call, congrats on your pregnancy. I thought you mentioned it at Kim's open house, but I was not sure.
Now, no worries about eating anything and everything in your path. At least you have an appetite! You can put a little more away being tall and pregnant!! I've eaten powdered donuts like you wouldn't believe and I have only gained 2o# with only 7 weeks to go. So enjoy and don't let the guilt ruin any pleasures!

Congrats, girl! I am so happy for you! And p.s., if I ever were pregnant, I'd throw all healthiness to the wind. It's like wise Jana said once, "Pregnancy is the one time I felt like I could sit on my butt all day."

OK maybe she didn't say that but it WAS something like that.

hello hello sorry about the downer phone call. I am so happy our babies will be close. Take comfort that you are no different than any other pregnant women. We will be pregnant together which means you will always look better than me. I saw you at 8 months with Jake and you were super cute,so eat away. Remember my mother in-law said I looked like Shrek at 8months! so no worries. You need to stop being so funny I'll never do my own blog page it would be so boring. love heath

That's my girl! Don't you start eating too healthy--you remind me of when you were taking notes from the text book in Ed. Psych. I wondered..how can I be friends with such a smarty pants? My bad influence stopped that habit quickly!

Well Well! It look s like we are on the same page. I ate Wendy's on Monday night and again last night. I have been eating nothing but crap. I can count the number of veggies I've eaten in the past 4 months on one hand. Unless you count the lettuce and tomato on the Jr. Bacon Cheese Burger. I'm afraid this kid is going to come out addicted to Dr. Pepper. I CAN'T STOP!

Hey! Congrats on #2 -- what an exciting time! Adrienne said you get sick with your pregnancies so I figure that even if you're not throwing everything up, you deserve to eat whatever and whenever you want because it SUCKS to be nauseated. So eat your heart out! You're trying to grow somebody else's brain right now and I heard Wendy's fries are exactly what the doctor ordered.
